Insurance Requirements

When in Germany, it is compulsory that you have medical insurance. If you do not have private insurance, it is recommended to get a German health-insurance-card.

European Union:

You need either the Form E109, E111, or E128.

If you will be staying longer than 90 days, it is recommended to apply for a health-insurance-card.

How to apply?

1. Go to a German Health insurance company with one of the above mentioned forms.

2. Leave a copy of your form and your address.

3. Receive the card after a week later by mail.

Non-European Union:

If you are under 30 years old, the price is around 55 EUR. Otherwise, it can cost up to 100 EUR as the price is age dependant.
